My Story
Photography is my passion. Storytelling is my life.
My name is Dave, and I have always enjoyed telling stories. Even when I was young, I was an avid reader and writer. After spending some time traveling in the U.S. Navy, I found myself attending Temple University's Tokyo campus studying journalism and film as a Communication Studies Major. Originally, I looked at it as a way to get more into writing, but in my first film class the professor handed me a cheap rental DSLR. I was hooked almost immediately and rushed out to buy my own. In the years since, I have worked to master my camera and this art called photography.
My Work
I started simply. I shot nature and landscapes around my apartment. I traveled and shot interesting and historic places for Wayfarerdaves.com, a travel blog I run with my best friend -also Dave- as I worked to master my camera. Eventually, I started looking to sell my photos on stock photo sites, like Shutterstock and Dreamstime. Now, I have added portraits and people to the mix, working to build a successful business out of doing something that I love. It all goes back to the beginning, to my first passion - storytelling.
